E.G.’s (non-comprehensive, brief) clarifying notes + commentary
General
as a general rule of thumb, where the Biblical Hebrew uses only one word that corresponds to a particular action, this translation methodology seeks to preserve a word-for-word correspondence where possible (it’s not applicable in resolutely every instance) and generally tries to avoid using two translated words as the equivalent for a single Semitic Hebrew term, thereby consolidating the fully comprehensive, in-depth, precise, and/or otherwise all-encompassing connotations of a Biblical Hebrew word in a one-to-one correspondence with a translated English word—for instance, yatsa (יָצָא) (3318) is updated and translated into one word as “forthgo” or “forthgoes” rather than as “bring forth”
as a corollary, this entails the normalized usage of considerably atavistic vocabulary and even in some instances a wholesale required coining of new English words with specially defined meanings to ensure applicably consistent translation without insufficiencies nor contradictions (remember! William Tyndale coined the English word “atonement”)
additionally, this means abandoning the KJV principle of simply preferring “simple words,” and instead in some occasions using older, atavistic, and face-value sophisticated terminology—for instance, b’kowrah (בְּכוֹרָה) (1062) is translated as “primogeniture” because it in one word sums up the concept of “right of the firstborn”; translating it as “birthright” might seem like an easier and simpler choice for the average reader to grasp, but the point here is that the Biblical Hebrew term appears to explicit mean the birthright of the firstborn, and therefore “birthright” as a standalone term is insufficient
echad (אֶחָד) (259) is translated as “one” or “oneth” and NOT ever rendered as “first,” in order to signify that echad is consistently rendered to signify a connotation principally of either cardinality or unity, not one strictly in principal meaning of ordinality—rather, rishon (רִאשֹׁן) (7223) is the term translated as “first” and which bears the connotation of ordinality
aphar (עָפָר) (6083) is translated as “earth” to mean the dust that materially comprises the planet, rendered this way to signify its covenantally relevant meaning as not merely benign “dust” in a solely material context as simplistically rendered and implied by standard translations—more on this in the clarification of the curse upon Satan and the parallel inter-textual explanation re. the undergirding conclusion to the curse upon Adam
chen (חֵן) (2580) will be properly translated always as “grace” and never as “favor”
nacham (נָחַם) (5162) is translated by this lay theologian (myself, E.G.) as “sorrify” to mean “comforting/consoling over a cause of sorrowing grief”—this way, “sorrify” should be sensibly applicable as a universal translated output corresponding to nacham without contradiction (where the KJV ambiguously alters evidently between “repent” and “comfort” depending on the specific context)
the shorter emphatic interjection hen (הֵן) (2005) is translated as “lo!” while its prolonged counterpart hinneh (הִנֵּה) (2009) is translated as “behold!”
the setumah and petuchah markings inserted by this author are NOT the same as those which appear in the mainstream rabbinic/Talmudic reckoning of the Hebrew Bible, and instead are repurposed and utilized to help clarify the self-defining parallel and chiastic delineations within the textual narrative

1:1-45: it appears that the account of the first six days of Creation Week comprise six parallel arms, each following a “I, II” structure—each setumah-delineated passage first describes providential action on that day, and concludes with “and it comes to pass! evening; and it comes to pass! morning—day [X]”
1:46-49: the account of seventh day of Creation Week appears to comprise its own two-arm parallel structure as “I:I, I:II; II:I, II:II,” defined by how it is delineated into four clean verses
2:31: this is marked unto interpretation as among the words uttered by Adam and not merely inserted as a statement emanating straight from the prophet Moses—although there is debate over the contextual ambiguity in determining towards concision whether that statement was declared by Adam or a “commentary” assertion by Moses, interpreting this as Adam’s own dialogue makes perfect sense, because it demonstrates why Adam joined Eve in sin despite consciously knowing1 the consequences that arises from his choice to sin with Eve, namely that Adam had already declared that a man would leave his father and mother to attach himself to his wife, and therefore Adam left his Father a.k.a. Jehovah,2 and his mother a.k.a. the city of God,3 to be with his wife Eve and remain with her, choosing to sin with her when he realized that she sinned
3:19: for interest’s sake, the demarcated passage here highlighting the first messianic promise fulfilled in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ—the image of the invisible God4—happens to be the one-hundredth verse in this literal, straightforward-premised, numerical-soundness-conscientious division of the text into verses—coincidence? (you decide)
3:24: Jehovah states that man is aphar (עָפָר) a.k.a. earth, the exact same aphar that He cursed the serpent into “eating” for all the remaining days of the devil’s life—what does it mean that the serpent “eats earth” as proclaimed in 3:18? the answer is simple—because mortal men are declared in 3:24 to be the very “earth” that the devil consumes, the implication is that Satan consumes the planet in sin (just look at what Satan’s hexagramic Nazi children currently have done and are doing to the innocent people of Gaza, occupied Jerusalem, Lebanon, Iran et. al.)
4:42: while at face value Lamech’s self-ascribing brazenly depraved proclamation appears to mean “seventy seven” (77), the w’ (9007) conjunction in this instance actually in effect means times in multiplicative/escalating terms and really means “seventy TIMES seven” (490)—this is because the “and” conjunction in the numerical reckoning in the ancient Semitic Biblical Hebrew context only implies addition when the numbers are ordered from the least digit unto the greatest digit (notice the genealogy details in ch. 5!); if Lamech meant “77,” it would have been “seven and seventy,” not “seventy and seven”—because the standard expected additive ordering instead is reversed in this passage, the w’ conjunction translates in effect not to addition, thereby rather signifying multiplication
6:6-7: the text here states exactly what the “Nephilim” were—they were not angel-human half-breed hybrids as commonly imagined, but rather the human offspring begotten when the sons of the God—a.k.a. those from Seth’s lineage who were counted as belonging to the covenant people as children of the living God purposed unto sanctification—craved after and sexually intermingled with the daughters of men a.k.a. women from Cain’s lineage—whose spiritual abode was outside the providentially guided faith of God’s covenantal promises—and whose children became earthly-designated men of self-magnifying prestige
6:8-9: just as in the antediluvian world, so too in the postdiluvian world—the late-stage human empire dilapidates into rottenness all the way through, from the great to the small, rich and poor alike—the purposings of the human inhabitants throughout the land (not merely one specific easy-to-scapegoat particular sect/group, but the whole planet) in all the days are depraved
6:10-12: only the universal Creator holds the valid key to universal liquidation of the creation
6:13: most translations incorrectly render חֵן as “favor” when it actually in the covenantally precise context (almost definitely) means “grace”—since the Great Flood typified5 the ultimate redemption of God’s faithful adherents, it is obvious that saving redemption by the grace of God was the universal true gate to God then, is the universal true gate to God today, and shall be the universal true gate to God unto the end of the ages—Noah was saved not because of “favor” but rather because of grace in the eyes of his Creator
